When I got pregnant with my second, we knew we wanted a change and for our voices to actually be heard in how we were going to birth my son in a hospital setting. Leading up to my birth, she was incredibly organized supplying us with so much knowledge and was always there for communication. During birth, she made our hospital room feel cozy with candles, oils, affirmation cards and her warm presence. She guided me into different positions, encouraged us to speak up on our preferences, and most importantly she never made me feel bad or less of a mother when I decided I needed an epidural. She stayed right there with us throughout the rest of labor continuing to help me into different birth positions, and encouraged my husband and I to speak up for what we wanted. After 18 hours, I finally achieved my VBAC and I couldn’t have done it without her!
